past copper

#

ok

wary wolf
#

Many things are possible, but, without external media, it become very tricky

Is it better to just visit a local tech shop to just install linux mint for me?

wary wolf
#

not necessarly

past copper
#

I went to my Brand Repair shop and they say they can only install windows 11 slop

#

depending where you live you could found USB stick in local supermarket

#

but indeed, that depend where you live

#

What is the comfortable size for a flash usb for mint?

wary wolf
#

8 GB is sufficient

past copper
#

Does linux mint support hyprland?

wary wolf
#

nop

past copper
#

No?

#

How about Fedora?

wary wolf
#

Don't know

#

I know Debian based distro

past copper
#

Which is?

wary wolf
#

Many, Ubuntu, Mint, etc...

#

Fedora is another "branch"

#

I plan to use my old laptop as a Server with running ubuntu

wary wolf
#

Server, you mean, not using as desktop ?

#

For server purpose, debian is better than ubuntu

#

debian is server oriented, ubuntu is more casual/desktop oriented

#

Anyway, if you plan to install several Linux like that, you really better buy a good USB stick

wary wolf
#

ok

#

Linux Mint is a good distro to start Linux, however don't expect latest fancy UI things like Hyperland

#

And Debian is good for servers

#

Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu, and Ubuntu itself is based on Debian

#

Debian is the most stable and reliable, not the most "up to date", but the most stable an reliable

#

perfect for server

#

Also debian provide minimnal ISO to install it as desktopless server.

#

Not sure Ubuntu provide that

past copper
#

Okay , Thanks for the help

past copper
#

#

#

#
