it isnt. i turned on "never sleep when charging" also it worked perfectly with windows a week ago.

what kind of phone? on my samsung they recently changed something that requires me to tell the phone that it can make a data connection (file transfer mode) to the computer every time I plug in the usb cable
it appears as a notification after plugging in the cable
I don't use ADB though. My phone just appears as a drive that I can read and write to.
