try export to PDF document
then open the pdf in the dedicated Document Viewer application and see if it looks right, and print from there
it may also be some deeper issue if even that fails
same result
Yea probably
Tried some printer test and it just kept writing f on the side
run lsusb in terminal if this is a USB-connected printer
and find its chip ID.
vendor 4 digit ID : product ID
also run inxi -Fxxxz and look through the USB devices stuff for more info on the printer
i dont think i put in the right command
you wrote it wrong 3 times....
i spelled it for you, and it even says there
yea my bad
look at back or bottom of printer .
write here or photograph the model
the full EXACT model.
does it say Epson ET1120 anywhere?
anything else?
on it
linux deb package
getting it
then reboot
yea made sure
does Mint have a Printer settings item in System Settings?
if it does, open it up and show pic of it
you mean this one?
yes.
check the Printer menubar item
see if it has any specific, adjustable settings
or maybe those are two different drivers?
try putting green checkmark on the righthand one
well, im out of ideas.
try printing a text file from the text editor. if it fails, i really dont know
That might not be a software issue. Your printer could be out of alignment. A hardware failure.
oh?
I haven't seen that in decades. Last time the printer roll inside was no longer aligned.
and is there a way to yk
Yes. Check for a paper jam, make sure it is aligned.
You might find it in maintenance, software under alignment.
ight checking this
Also check inside the printer if possible for any jams.
everything seems to be fine
Then proceed with the maintenance in the software.
checking on the scanner for the maintanence
Some printers have the maintenance mode on the control panel. That's on the printer/scanner itself. It's a screen menu.
i am genuinely so sorry but i am completely lost due to this problem being a headache
Normally when a printer goes out of alignment. You run it through maintenance to readjust itself. A lot of it is automated. It's mostly a matter of activating that mode. Whether it's on the printer control panel or in the desktop/pc software.
trying to find the software but i am not able to find the equivalent
Edge Correction settings?
isnt that a windows thing
Right click on the printer icon, options/settings. Screen shot what it shows.
Printer settings? Options?
We don't need the server. We need the printer settings.
smth like this?
Middle one.
regular a4
That may be your problem. Can you select something other than A4?
yea basically
You only have A4 as the option?
no i have other options
DPI should be around 150.
Select other options until you see 8.5 x 11 inches and or 150 dpi.
cloest i can get
Lol. I didn't even know that was an option. Again, no. You want 150.
Is it still the same from the other print?
Definitely the alignment. You will need to locate the alignment options.
printer settings of libreoffice
You'll need to locate the alignment settings and restore them or change them.
this right?
Yes, but the issue is alignment.
Was the alignment at default prior?
Set it back to default and see if that fixes it for alignment. Just alignment.
Continue to mess with alignment settings to find it's positions.
The video I showed above should give you an idea.
Update: okay so, i tried a different way to connect by connecting to the hp hyperjet thingy, its still the same epson l380, and it printed the test print and a random .txt file, but when i try to print out what i have on libreoffice, it just keeps printing the .txt file, but when i switch back to epson l380 options it just refuses to print, like the printer wont even spew out the paper on the otherside with nothing, it just does nothing
omfg it fucking prints
