yes
only one, and it's an nvme
did u reboot or still stuck in installer?
i rebooted to disable secure boot and tried again and it's still the same.
ok let's try something a bit different
the system is otherwise responsive, i can browse
force quit is failing. what's the process going to be called? the title bar says "install" but i don't see that in the list.
easy way is run xkill in terminal, then click the installer
with the deathmouse
once it's gone , open Disks app from the app menu
ok, i'm there
I'd like to see what is there
I hate that I had to take a picture of the screen, lol.
it's only live mode so
close that app. open gparted up
make sure its selector is on the nvme0n1 drive
the go to Device menu, > new partition table > GPT
wait hold on @tacit frigate
Holding
click partition 2 in the Disks app
then the play button
what's it say exactly for used and free and total
502gb free(1.8% full) partition type Linux file system
Partition 2 512gb ext4
9.216?
yep. close to 10 gigs
not quite complete install
cuz it's like 10 gigs with a 2 gig swap file plus 8 gig OS
pretty sure
anyway, try again. make new partition table as above
ensure USB does not get bumped or nudged
Right, so the install never finished and ininterrupted it after an hour to disable secure boot, then after another hour and came here. I know it should only take 10 min or so from doing other installs
I’m getting the rainbow spinner over everything so I’m just gonna reboot to try again after deleting the partitions in disks
Ok
Gparted only sees a single 476.94 GiB unallocated partitiob
Lthsts just die to GB/GiB notation though, I suppose
yep
once fully unallocated with abrand new GPT, then close gparted, and run up installer
and choose the erase/install automated thing
dont encrypt or do any kind of advanced buggery
Alright, got to a new progress bar
did it finish, and boots now?
Yes thank you for your help. I have a functional pc now!
