I ran some command last night which may have caused this

echo "install algif_aead /bin/false" > /etc/modprobe.d/disable-algif.conf
rmmod algif_aead 2>/dev/null || true```

I tried booting in recovery mode but it shows the  same

this is disgracefully dangerous to attempt without a timeshift backup.

if u do have a TS backup, the boot live usb of Mint, run Timeshift, and restore a saved snapshot.
