That dongle has been known to be a pain in Linux, it might not even function correctly in Linux
I think mine is Edimaxx BT8500
I haven't had any issues with it and I have 2 mini PCs connected with a KVM switch that the Bluetooth dongle is plugged into
I had some IoGear Bluetooth dongles that worked well but I am not sure if they are still for sale, may have been GBU521
I have 2 of them somewhere as they are small and I lost the first one and bought another
