I have looked in the command promp and used "pavucontrol" and "alsamixer". alsamixer shows my sound card as defult but pavucontrol only shows HDMI.

Looking online keeps me going in a circle. Would someone be willing to help me with a step by step to help me get my sound to work please?

I can help with more information just please let me know what you need to help resolve my issue please.

Please shoot me a PM if you are willing to help me with my issue, thank you!

This is a new PC I just built it. Its less then one month old

so may take some time for kernel updates to support this.

#

can u plug headphones to a TV or monitor with a headphone jack?

#

and run the HDMI audio that way?

So I am stuck with sound through my monitor and no headphones?

ivory monolith
#

for a while yes

pure pasture

I have the headphones plunged into the audio port in the back but the sound will only go through the monitor no headphones

idk much about kernel patches or modules but they're written into the linux kernel once AMD releases code

pure pasture
#

So I have to wait till there are updates to work?

ivory monolith

for some reason, it's incompatible right now. that's why it doesnt show in the GUI mixer, (but oddly does in alsamixer)

I know I am stuck in a loop. I look online and they say "try this" and I do and then "do that" and its a loop I am stuck in 🙁

you could test by live booting an Arch-based distro like Endeavour OS. it will have the most leading-edge linux kernel. may work to run ur sound
