#How to format a USB
7 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
for what tasks do you want it formated? data exchange with windows machines? or for linux only? or do you want to create a bootable memory stick with LM on it?
use the USB stick formatter tool that comes with Mint, or the Disks app
There are several methods. You can use Etcher, Ventoy, or Rufus to format the USB stick for Linux Mint. Pick Cinnamon if you have a semi modern PC/Laptop 8gb ram or higher.
When in doubt, refer to official Mint install help guide online.
if it has 1 main partition -> in the file explorer right click USB stick -> format (easiest)
any success?
