I am trying to get my fingerprint reader to work with Fingerprints, but it doesn't seem to work. I later tried using python-validity and it worked but it seems to not be compatible with the Fingerprints GUI.

Have you installed the drivers for the fingerprint sensor? I don't have a thinkpad, but I know that is all that is needed to get a dell sensor to start working.

it could be the kernel version
you could try regressing the kernel to a version where you know it worked
