When I have leave my mint system idle over a prolonged amount of time (4+ hrs) it starts stuttering (on a 5600x cpu and 32 gigs of ram and a dedicated 6600xt gpu). It is easily "fixable" by f2 + r reloading the desktop environment. I am not sure what is happening but the cinnamon --replace is taking up a whole CPU thread killing performance significantly

  1. Leave PC on
  2. return after 5 hours
  3. watch stuttering frames

Expected behavior: An insignificant performance difference from an idle system
Actual behavior: Cinnamon taking 99% of the CPU

memory leak is when a process uses too much memory due to it not being freed after allocation, not when cpu usage is at 99%

I dub this compute fart then XD. Personally i didn't encounter this problem yet but it might be worth looking into as it's not the first time i heard of it

I have no issues on my system. Granted I have different CPU, and graphics card, both Intel.

I would suggest checking update manager, if there aren't any new drivers for your graphics card.
