run plank --preferences in terminal. you should then be able to activate the various effects you want.
check the Behaviour tab
then i guess force reinstall the old version.
you'll need to shut plank fully down first
use synaptic to look up plank and select the package and do force version from the package menu. and mark for reinstallation
i hae tried to uninstlal it and install it still has that patch
what is synaptic
this is what happens if you download elementary OS desktop environment
the plank ets patched
do you nkow how to uninstall elementary os environment?
i am using plank in MATE desktop not EOS DE
first, get synaptic package manager
then use it to look up the exact plank package you do have and note down its version number
try force retrograde it like I said
and decline all future updates for it and elementary
if you must remove elementary environment, do so. u can use synaptic to help u with that also
open synaptic, make it big. then search (by name) elementary
find in the results what you have with green square (meaning installed) the key package is probably a meta-package and will say so in its description
uninstall it and be very attentive in the final warning summary of exactly WHAT it proposes to remove.

@deep oak ^
i had to reinstall everything
were you able to get the discreet Plank dock installed and working?
including with iicon zoom...
no i just reinstalled everything
i mean the whole OS
if you want to encouter the error on your own just install elementary OS desktop good luck
yes but did you install Plank as a standalone app ?
i have no idea i installed through sofwtware and through code both first uninstalling
i cant od anything now with it since i am on a new installation
on the NEW install, install synaptic. it'll be your best friend.
yeah cuz that's the standalone app
if you install eo all installs will be patched for some reason
did you try installing EO?'
why would I? 😛
