How to make specific file types hidden

I use both Blender and Krita and both of those programs have a system that creates backup files respectively called .blend1 and .kra~ respectively. I want to hide these files so they don't take up space when I'm looking at my file manager. I hop between mint's default: nemo, and dolphin.

put a dot infront of all their names. that which you wish to hide.

eg. : file or folder : .project33.blend1
