I have linux mint booted on external HDD and I tried connecting my PS4 controlller via bluetooth and it connects but it wont output any input when I try it on gamepad tester, but when I use a cable it works, any solutions?

That happened to my dualsense on steam. The solution was to set it to trust device after connecting. Disconnect and then you should get a pairing notification after turning the bluetooth on again. If that does not do it try to pair right clicking it

nope still no input

You can change the input from PS4 dual sense to Xbox input, and use the wire (usb). Steam recently pulled down the dual sense support. You can't even find it proper in github. I can give you a link to custom mods that cover all game controllers?

Ah. I recommend downloading Steam's store in general. It will provide the latest game drivers across all spectrum. It won't block any access to other software, merely add on top if the drivers are available. There was a big deal with Dual Sense a while back. A lot of those drivers were pulled. You just have to track down or enable them in various emulators, applications.

It's ideal to use Steam's big picture mode to test you controller. You can also use retro arch's controller settings. It's loaded to the brim with drivers. That's to make sure it's detecting your controller.

it's not detecting it

do that while your controller is connected, if at the end "js0" appears that means its recognized as a controller

#

try to install the xpadneo driver if nothing if you need help on that lmk

I had (still have, technically) a similiar problem
but for me it only stops working when I connect my headphones on the controller audio jack and works again if I remove it
on usb works fine though

Your audio jack can override priority. That's sadly been a thing for a while. You can manually adjust it in the sound settings.

Yes. That's the best method. Enabling wifi/blue tooth requires specific drivers. You can get them in emulators or... get something like a TPLink USB connector made for said game controller. That's how I got my Wiimote working on PC.

Until the patent expires. Your best bet is wired, a wifi adapter or putting in specific drivers.

Adding that to my list of PS4 fixes.

From now on I'll be recommending the resync. This will also make it a lot easier to find any additional videos on the subject for fixes.
