I have installed Linux Mint on a Thinkpad T470S but it is going through a 'reset system' boot loop. It is on UEFI boot and secure boot is off. I have tried boot repair and that did not work. Seems to be some NVRAM problem.

go into BIOS, secure boot section: clear all security keys

then it'll likely work. ensure the 'ubuntu' entry is at top of uefi boot list

I disable boot order lock and now it works

i didn't mention this but i tried clearing security keys did not work

but disabling boot order lock worked

wiping the sb keys likely helped
