I wanna switch to Mint because Microsoft is evil. I been thinking about making the switch for a while now and i'm feeling pretty confident that i won't run into any problem or will regret my decision after leaving windows forever. it's Lightweight, storages efficient and can run games equal or better performance than windows? what else can i ask for? i just want to discuss a little, a few questions before switching over. I want Music bee to work but it's not supported? what do? no i don't wanna switch to a linux alternative because music bee is the best. I checked and found out that lot of my games i play frequently are supported by linux. i'm talking about San Andreas multiplayer, multi theft auto, war thunder, yuzu, Minecraft. Games i haven't checked yet or don't know if they will work or not osu!, my steam library(checkscreenshots), Bombsquad, GZdoom. Now let's talk about drivers. G hub, chipset drivers and all that windows essential stuff. Where do i find linux alternatives for those? my USB flash drive is kinda broke so can i use my android to install linux? ik silly question but still. I don't have Wifi like the adapter or let's say it's not a feature build into my motherboard. is it gonna be a issue? I use ethernet.
now, let me mention my system information

well you'll probably either have to find a alternative for music bee, OR run both windows 10 and linux mint at the same time
war thunder prob won't work due to anticheat
the rest should work
but you will need a USB flash drive to install linux mint
😿
i'd recommend a dualboot in that case
installing both linux mint and windows
I don't have enough storage
also the hassle of dual booting i might aswell just drop War Thunder then
music bee i can't
true, but you could set it up like so:
have your files on the HDD
then split up the drive between windows and linux mint (128GB each)
you need a USB drive or even an SD card to install linux
a sd card could work yeah
I do have a ton of micro SD cards
but not a converter
before discussing software though you should check if your hardware is compatible though. And not just CPU/GPU because those 'just work' but something as dumb as the BIOS could cause incompatibilities
So check the live environment thoroughly
if your PC has a microSD slot there's a chance the BIOS could use it, otherwise you need a microSD to USB adapter
Can't i use my android?
with USB cable
😩
I do have an USB drive but it's unreliable, quite old and probably at the brink of its lifespan
i fear it might just die on my during the installation
yeah unreliable USBs could install corrupted systems
you could get a basic USB drive, even a 16GB one is enough. They're cheap
My dad won't let me buy it
that sucks but i can't really help with no way of getting the ISO in a usable medium
😿
if u have a second computer and a home/office router (and this target computer has a ethernet port so it can LAN-boot, you can set up iVentoy on the other pc to launch the ISO on this one.
.
for Music Bee, you can try Winboat
that is, if it absolutely won't work thru wine/ winetricks
Very proper advice.
not possible for me
Can't help with the technical stuff, beginner myself, but with the Iso medium Problem if you can't buy a USB yourself maybe a friend can help you out there and lend you a bootable USB for this project.
There is always a solution to any problem, some cost money and some cost time and effort. Don't give up!
i also installed last night and i slept at 4am trying to learn things but atleast no i know sudo apt install lol
I'm giving up, sorry
