I installed steam but when I try to launch a game on Steam in Linux Mint, it starts to launch but then nothing happens. The game doesn’t even open , and there’s no error message—it just seems like it fails to start.

In the steam settings - compatibility, does it say proton experimental?

crude sentinel
#

i used proton hot fix bevor, then 9,0-4, but yes

sand minnow

Ok, go to the game's properties and set launch options to

PROTON_LOG=1 %command%

start the game, let it crash / close, then go to your home folder, do you see steam log file there?
