hi. i tried to install rocm. now i regret it and want to put everything back. but i cannot boot and use display at all without nomodereset. here's more details about what happened

  • sudo apt install rocm-dev rocm-libs hip-runtime-amd

this is what broke display, i i tried to undo it

  • sudo apt purge rocm*, sudo apt install --reinstall mesa-utils

and although the packages seem to have been removed and installed, i can't use cinnamon. how can i fix this?

i've also tried fix broken install and various re/installations of the gfx stack, amdgpu and cinnamon-desktop-enviroment

You should have probably installed it through the official ubuntu packages

#

Ubuntu packages the HIP runtime

#

And ROCm tools

#

Also, installing those libraries should not break your display at all.
