use some remapping software on Linux. you'll need to remap ALL the keys

I can't reboot my computer (which is currently running Windows) right now, but I'll try that when I can.

I tried using input-remapper, but when I tried to remap Ctrl, it also detected it as Shift. I also tried to use xmodmap and xkbcomp, but the layouts they displayed already had those keys mapped correctly. Is there another software that I should try?

i can only suggest use an entirely different physical keyboard, or change the keyboard layout in keyboard settings

I don't have a different keyboard (or the money to buy one), and none of the other layouts seem to be helping, so I'll try using the different versions of mint, and then a completely different distro to see if this keyboard even works with Linux or if I need to wait until I have the money for a new one to start using Linux as my main system.
