so i have been having many freezing issues and i assume they are from running vulkan on a driver with only opengl support, i know my graphics card is capable of running vulkan and it it supported by nvidia but none of the drivers in my drivers manager contain vulkan support. this thing has been causing me issues for sometime with freezing and issues from steam when almost everything else on my linux desktop works perfectly like i tested running 12 tabs and they all worked fine lmfao so yeah please help me install vulkan, my full system info is linked here and inxi -Gxxx:

#

you already have Vulkan, it is shipped with the driver you downloaded

jagged jetty
#

the only api available is open gl

#

i dont honestly really know tbh

#

Do not trust inxi

#

Even I don't have the vulkan entry, yet i can run Vulkan apps

jagged jetty
#

and it also doesnt appear in X server options

#

if you can already run Vulkan apps you have Vulkan

jagged jetty
#

yes

#

perhaps try downgrading to 550

jagged jetty
jagged jetty
#

?? show driver manager

#

yeah im trying to open it rn

jagged jetty
#

do i need to add a specific ppa?

#

no

#

why did you choose 570 if the recommended is 535?

jagged jetty
#

experiment with 565 then

jagged jetty
#

exit error 11

#

your GPU is too old for 570

#

535 is best

jagged jetty
#

same with the 470

#

ik

#

can you post sudo apt install vulkan-tools && vulkaninfo

#

ok one sec im trying to install the 565 driver to see if it works now

#

sorry its downloading but rn my internet is ass

jagged jetty
#

somehow it installed lol

jagged jetty
jagged jetty
#

run vulkaninfo | grep -E "device|renderer" and post its output here

#

actually no need

#

Vulkan's fine

#

Try running your apps
