#Consistent installer buffering

how many internal drives do you have connected?
this sometimes causes a major stall.
I have my 2 2tb disks/hard drives, flash drive that im booting from, and 2gb loop device. Im not that technical so im listing what it's saying in their
Also, some attempts I made loaded the installer, but when I got to certain points in the installation it wouldn't let me complete it , but for the most part in just buffers the whole time
try disconnecting one of the two hard drives after shutdown
then boot up the usb and try again.
if you dont have data you need on the target hdd, then erase it first from gparted before running the installer icon
use the device menu and make new partition table (as gpt)
Do I disconnect it in bios, and how?
How do I erase it from gparted, is it something in the live desktop of mint I search up, im dont really understand? Also, I booted it from Rufus as gpt from my laptop, is that what you mean?
question 1: unplug the sata cable
question 2:
yes gparted is included.
if it's on a laptop, you may have to open back panel, and unplug drive (the one you dont want to have linux on) from sata port or m.2 socket
Is this for if im booting the Os to boot onto another pc? Im sorry I dont know how this stuff is. I just used my laptop to boot the os using rufus to boot it onto another pc that doesn't have an OS on it, and it has nvidia if that means anything.
Also, could you tell me what to do like I dont know how computers work, or tell/link some youtube videos for certain parts to show me what to do if you dont want to spend the time or whatever?
Thank you for reaching out in the first place too
u want to install on desktop?
So, I have a laptop with windows on it that im using to boot linux mint(cinnamon prefered), and im setting that up to plug and boot up that usb/OS onto a different actual pc that I got wiped recently and it has nothing on it. (FYI, I tried fedora and managed to install it onto the hardrive but I ended up not wanting that for other issues), also, when im in bios, it usually only shows ether just 1 hardrive with fedora on there, or that and the usb to boot from, I have that hard Disk with fedora disabled)
I mentioned that because maybe that's the issues?
ok donttalk about the laptop
do that on the target pc, and its target drive.
then install Mint via its 'erase and install' option. done.
Oh ok. I searched gparted in settings area, went to it, erased the drive/encryption it had on it with gpt style, now its unallocated. Is that right? Do I just install mow or am I missing a step?
Did you also say to erase main data partition in there?
i just said wipe the one drive, as per pic
then install
take note the drive by size and name, and u saw in gparted
so u install for sure to THAT one
@wet zephyr
Should it still take a bit to load up? And what should I do if it does, after all that? Did I need mount or uncountable anything in disk?
usb takes about under 2 minutes to boot.
hard drive maybe 35 seconds.
SSD around 10-12 seconds to boot to complete desktop.
It was taking longer than that, maybe. Did I need to allocate the the hardrive beforehand, abd how, just press the + button ?
nope
this and install. that's it
It looks like it's working. Thank you so much
glad u got it up. yw
