Im trying to move an image to usr/share/backgrounds to make it my lockscreen but i cant because im "not the owner"? or something like that
i thought in linux you are the owner of the machine by default wtf?

im the only one who has access to this thing, hell

how do i change the orwnership of the folder from root to me?

You're getting ahead of yourself here.

The root directory is of course, set up like that so people don't go around just dabbling with it.

There likely will be consequences if you do.

But what you're trying to do is alright. Can you get me the filepath of the image?

thank you but i dont need it anymore i just opened the folder as root and changed the permissions

i understand some stuff is set up so people dont fuck up their whole entire system but i must admit im starting to get a bit frustrated
part of the process tho i guess , new OS and all
