Im lost on how i configure my desktop to allow me to put the icons wherever i want? i found out how to put the icons in the desktop , but i cant control them

Try this:

  1. Right-click your desktop
  2. click Customize
  3. toggle Auto-arrange OFF

Then you should be able to move icons wherever you want. You can also adjust the grid layout that they snap to within the same menu.
