first of all, please send output of lsblk -f in a maximized terminal so we can know how much free/total storage space you have
ok. do you have any external drive of any sort?
My 64gb stick
yeah, i can see it.
Yeah 😭🙏
it seems like you have 100gb used on your main mint installation
how much of that do you need to keep?
All 🥀
I have very personal things not worth leaving
ok. can you run sudo apt install gparted && sudo gparted in the terminal rq?
-# fyi I don't understand most things done in terminal. I may be using Linux for a few years but I barely touch terminal
oh im dumb you have double what I thought
It's alr
People make mistakes 🤑
doesn't matter. what do you have on your usb rn
Just assets I used for a video
would you mind moving them to your main drive temporarily and then installing ventoy on the usb drive?
Sure
How do I install tho 😭
I'll ping u once I've done it
and run the VentoyGUI.x86_64 program inside it
Extract it using balena ? Then write it to the drive ?
Wait
Nvm I'm dumb 😭
no, just double click it
then press extract in the Archive Manager
did you download the .tar.gz file?
ok now navigate to option->partition style->press gpt
Done, then install ?
I forgor whats the exact name
You got it spot on 😭
yeah
It said this been successfully installed in it
when it finishes, go to the Ventoy partition in the file manager
there you can put ISOs you wanna boot into, and all other data you'd like
now download gparted live
download the iso file, it should be around half a GB
Alr
put it in the Ventoy drive and then boot into it
How are you this precise 😭
Alr
I have done this some times, I just know lmao
I feel like you've prepared for this XD
im not the only one who memorized it in here lol dw
I'll boot into it once I finish my hw
oh ok gl
But once I get there, what do I do incase your not around ?
ill be around dw
even if i won't, just resize your mint partition to leave enough free space for all data you ever need
then create a new partition in place of the unallocated space
reboot back into mint
copy all your files into there
and youre done! feel free to install any other os you'd like over the first 2 partitions
So to summarize
dont summarize just yet
Alright
youre still not done. patience😉
Yes 🙏
I'll get back to you once I can reboot
ok
I gotta finish 2 more homeworks then I'm free 🙏🤑
feel free to ping me
@lapis thunder @pearl prairie can I atleast talk here ?
Of course, you can talk in support and topic specific channels.
(unless you start being annoying here too)
Alr
@dusky belfry I'll try to boot into it now
