@dense wagon u can have a seat.
put 'suspend when inactive' to 45 minutes or whatever you want. then exit that
ok
you can also have it suspend when the power button is pressed
or leave it as is on "ask" then choose from the popup
It still doesn't work
wdym?
u have to wait 45 minutes to test
or choose the power icon in the start menu: then click "suspend"
it still goes to the lock screen when I suspend
stunner still doesnt understand what the issue is
open the system settings
go to Screensaver and double click it. then show a screenshot
do you use an Nvidia card?
and when I turn off lock computer when put to sleep it does nothing when I suspend
yes a GTX 970
can you please inxi -GSMCxxxz in terminal and show output?
itès too long
too lang to post here
screenshot
wait
inxi SMCGxxxz
screenshot two screenshots.. first one from the very top of results
and second one lower down
should fit on one maximized screen anyway
quite easily.
output of mokutil --sb-state please
mokutil --sb-state
SecureBoot disabled
Platform is in Setup Mode
I want to know one thing.
what?
very simple. no big talking, no long typing
click the power icon in the start menu
in the resulting popup menu, click "suspend"
then let go the mouse immediately
what happens?
nothing because I have lock the computer when put to sleep
I did and nothing
turn off that blue toggle
check in BIOS of wake-on-LAN is on. If it is, turn it off
and disable TPM in security settings while you're there.
still nothing when I click suspend
can you open driver manager and then install the "recommended" driver?
they're not related directly.
the issue seems your TPM is enabled (known to cause systems not to go dormant)
or Wake-on-LAN activity is enabled.
so I have to turn off my pc ok
thirdly, check the BIOS's processor's/ motherboards sleep state support.. S0 should be on
S0 , S1 .. whatever.
they should be supported/enabled if u find the setting
ping me when you install the Nvidia driver
ok do I restart?
@dense wagon
now the screen doesn't fit right
@dense wagon
I'm going back to the open-source driver the screen fits properly with it
After doing all the updates, now my PC suspends
