#Piled up kernel packages from mintupdate

Hi.

Today i did some system maintenance and old kernel cleanup using mintupdate. Then i checked with APT and saw that mintupdate had left a lot of orphaned tools/header packages behind when removing them that were several versions old (6.8.0-57, for example, or old HWE headers too), while those kernels vanished a long time ago from my system.

So i spent some sweet time tracking what kernels were gone and what orphaned packages remained, and i removed them using APT.

Is it just my case or does mintupdate not clean up kernels properly when asked to remove them? I might just use APT for kernel management and mintupdate for updates from now on.

The packages i mentioned were from kernels that i manually removed using mintupdate. They're mostly harmless junk left by mintupdate (tools and headers)

#

so i just removed them with apt

autoremove didn't list them

#

so plain remove/purge

i was wondering if this is a mintupdate bug
