Good day. I've been looking for a driver for an Xtreme Gaming Mouse (15 Button) mouse. No luck so far.
Is there such a driver out there or a way to enable the use of the side buttons on the mouse.
Thank you for your time.

I havnt been able to find out how to do so.

#

Before I switched from windows to linux, I have a driver disk that let me program the various buttons for the mouse.

#

Windows disk. Was looking for a linux version of the disk.

type xev in the terminal, a window should pop up.
The window will report any inputs it receives to the terminal, test to see if pressing those buttons gives any output in the terminal

There is a response for each button but I havnt a clue what the responses actually mean. Thank you for responding to my quiry by the way. Muchly apreciated.

I havnt in the past. Just decided to try again a couple days ago to see if anything has changed. But with that command and the input showing for each mouse button, may allow me to do so now. I will try download a program I was trying to use this mouse with.

#

Actually. I can try to assign a couple of the side buttons here in Discord.

unless the buttons are mapped to keys like F13-24 for example i dont think you will

Ahh I see what you mean.

#

thats what the disk that came with the mouse for windows was for I imagine.

the only mouse software i know of for linux is piper and your mouse isnt supported by it unfortunately

It ran outside any game or program.

#

I did look at piper last time I looked up this issue.

the config might be saved to the mouse in which case you might be able to go into windows, set the extra buttons to keys that either dont exist or you never use on your keyboard, then use those on linux

When I switched to Linux 3 years ago. I went cold turkey.. I havnt ever run dual boot. Just did a reformat and install a week ago to get rid of all the many trials I preformed. So, no way to run in windows. 😉

then i think you're probably out of luck, your best bet is probably making an issue on https://github.com/libratbag/libratbag/issues to ask for it to be supported but I wouldnt give it a very good chance of being supported since it seems quite obscure

Im sure. They have done amazing things with mint. But I wasnt expecting support for this mouse. Was more of a hope. But im sure they have much more important things to do to make mint even greater. But thank you very much for your time. So very muchly apreciated. You have a most excellent day.
