#No wifi after booting up linux for the first time

Hi everyone, after downloading and booting linux xfce for the first time, I noticed I couldn't wirelessly connect to the internet. After looking it up, it sounded like I needed to have some sort of wifi drivers installed, and that the main solution was to temporarily connect to ethernet for a second so that you could get the ones you needed from driver manager.

Right now the ethernet option would be a pain, so I was wondering if I could just install the ones I needed onto a thumb drive and then onto mint, but I'm not really sure which ones I need or where to get them. How do I find that out, or is it even worth it to go down that route?

I've never really done anything with linux or mint ever, so please be patient with me and thanks for your time :)

If it's gonna be a hassle I might just do the ethernet method tbh

number one: make sure "secure boot" option in BIOS is put disabled

#

number 2: connect to ethernet, and test connection

#

number 3: run the app "Driver Manager" from start menu and it should detect the special broadcom driver you need. let it install it.

#

reboot the system afterwards then test the wifi. should show symbol in the tray area of taskbar
