Any time I try updating to the latest version of Linux Mint it gives me an error message saying to check my internet connection. Under the details, it says "An error occurred during the signature verification. The repository is not updated and the previous index files will be used." My internet is completely fine. Also, most software I have just refuses to open. Steam, all my steam games, roblox as the Sober launcher, and discord. Only things that do open are Firefox and LMMS. I thought this was related to my laptop needing to update, but I can't update. I resorted to trying a reset by reinstalling Linux mint XFCE, but I haven't been able to verify anything I download. How can I fix this? How can I be able to open software again, be able to update.

Please show the output of
sudo apt update
in the terminal
Results for df -h
or
lsblk -f
Try sudo apt autoclean && sudo apt autoremove Your root parition is full
What is it installed on? SD card?
Can you use update manager, view, linux kernels to remove some old kernels?
What is what installed on
mint
I used an external hard drive, shouldn't it not be there after installing a distro?
But be on the laptop itself
sudo apt autoremove && sudo apt autoclean not sudo apt audoclean
Ill try that
could you also screenshot the disks app?
Seems to be working so far
This is for this
try a reboot
Ok
Do you want me to do anything with the disks app first
clck on the first device and make a screenshot, then on a second one and screenshot too
That's.... a very small drive
Yea ik, its my laptop
Whats weird is that on windows it only said it had a max 26 gb
On linux it says 31
Its an hp stream i got in 2018
There should be disk space analyzer pre-installed, can you run that?
2nd from the top, astrid hp stream
Its taking a bit to analyze
If you have something like SD card for a hard drive, it'll be pretty slow.
HP Streams were really cheap, likely had some small device soldered to the motherboard
I forgot how they're called properly EEC drive? it is something used in cheap laptops
Do you need a better image the text is kinda small
open up usr and home folders what's in there?
Basically see what takes up space in your /home/astrid folder and see what you don't need and can delete.
You're really straped for space here
This is all I have in there
In the documents folder I have curseforge and mincraft installed i just deleted those
hmm.... could you show us the output of
flatpak list
from the terminal?
flatpak no c
Since you're very strapped for space, I'd recommend using as little flatpak apps as you can - they take up a lot of space
Flatpak as in what you can download from software manager?
Yes, you can see some are marked as flatpak there, and others aren't
How can I uninstall flatpak apps, when I use the mint button in the bottom left to see software and right click there is no option, and I don't remember there being an option to uninstall in the software manager
Ill reboot now
Oh right I forgot a problem
It wont let me reboot i have to hard shut down every time
One problem at a time
Right
In the software manager you can press the hamburger menu and click show installed apps
and uninstall from there
Ok
Ill try uninstalling some
How does this help with being able to update
This just showed up after I rebooted
If you freed up some space (empty the trash as well), try
sudo apt update
again in the terminal
Where is trash i don't see it when I search in the linux mint button
in the file manager
Please don't uninstall random packages
Ok
Is the trash clear?
Yes I had nothing in it
Ok, show us the result of
sudo apt update
ok, and then
sudo apt upgrade
do not touch update manager while terminal is working
Ok
I'm off to bed
yes
See how it works
