why does flrig freeze my computer ? Won't even start.

ok I have installed flrig, fldigi and wsjtx. The only program that will run no problem is wsjtx, the other two freeze my pc. They don't even get a chance to start.
I'm running Cinnamon Edition 2.22
these programs will run with pop, but I don't like it.

Did you get them from software manager?

I tried both ways from the manager and from the web site..same outcome
