#Grouped window list pinned apps reorder

Hi everyone. For some reason it seems i can't reorder the tabs at all, neither pinned or unpinned. I even tried to reset the applets settings but no luck. Has anyone encountered this issue?

Thank you in advance

right click the 'grouped window list' in an empty area to get to its Configuration menu.

#

put sort order to: none (drag and drop)

#

you can also turn off "group similar applications"

#

you may also add a better quicklauncher called "panel launchers" in APPLETS

Ok interesting. "sort order" as an option does not appear at all.
I will try panel launchers eventually, but i like to have the stock experience

forest gale
#

may not be called sort order precisely

No luck, nothing tells me about "sorting" if not for thumbnails, but even that doesn't solve the issue

show the screen

'enable app button dragging' is what they must have renamed it to.. this means drag and drop

forest gale
#

so you can or should be able to just drag stuff how you like.

#

if not, eliminate that applet complete (grouped window list) and replace it with the two stock applets: Panel Launchers, and Window List (or in the Downloads tab of APPLETS: Cassia Window List)

Exactly.
I tried to switch it on and off, and i can drag, but the "drop" is broken

But grouped window list is what it came as stock to me
Window list doesn't have the pin option, which i like

forest gale
#

pinned junk always opens in stupid orders, and prevents muscle memory

distant yew
#

Ok, but i like it this way
The drop is broken for me but it works on another fresh install, and i like the pin functionality. I don't use it as mutch since most of my workflow is off terminal, but to have it broken like that it bothers me, and since i like it to have it this way i asked if someone else had the same problem

if you want muscle memory, use 'panel launchers' then drag any app from inside the start menu to that applet

distant yew
#

It shouldn't be broken, and i like to have stock cinnamon since i don't want to customize it. "use something else" is not a solution to me

show a video if u can of what u mean the drop is broken

#

use simplescreen recorder, or vokoscreen-ng to record

distant yew

Sure thing

forest gale
#

i can only imagine you have to close all apps first before you can drag them around in the pinned section.

are all the apps shut down fully when u tried that? i cant tell

#

nvm, i see the underline

#

ya I'm 99.9% sure it will never work

#

when apps are open, they always go to the right

#

though i dont see why you couldn't swap the position of the file manager and the terminal, for example.

#

that should work, unless that darn applet is just screwed

distant yew

I will try tomorrow to just reset them somehow, at the cost of reinstalling the DE or doing a fresh install, time permitting. Thanks for the patience, i will keep the thread updated

this is interesting. I added some logs in the js code of the applet in looking glass and it is almost like it doesn't recognize the user configuration when it searches for the drop position preview

distant yew
#

Ok the user config is correctly loaded, still when i drag / drop it doesn't see the thing i am dragging

#

This is funny.
When i move the panel to the top, it works, but when i place it into the bottom it stops working
