#TouchPad malfunctioning

install hardinfo n run it. find the touchpad info. may be in USB (internal) devices, or pointing devices, or HID on the side. check all
get its manufacturer/tradename , chip id etc
thanks for trying to help out
in the results, each one with blue >> marks
very poor support on most
most say 'detected' . not see one that says 'works'
either disable the touchpad using key or button on keyboard, and use a mouse; or leave it
one comment says works slightly better on Wayland. could try that
if it works better, but wayland (experimental) on Mint causes other graphical issues, then go with a full-Wayland distro -- like Tuxedo OS, or Ubuntu Gnome/Kubuntu
So it's almost certainly a driver problem rather than a hardware one?
Very well, I'll try out Wayland and report back here if need arises - I'll resort to windows as a last option
Thanks again
