try using iVentoy. this is a LAN-boot service you can temporarily enable on a second working PC connected to the same home router (this acts as a deployment computer. The target PC (the one wanting linux installed onto) must connect to router via Ethernet cable, and support LAN PXE boot via its BIOS

I could have sworn this title said booting / installing without USB and using Unetbootin.
