Hello - I am continuing my transition to Linux Mint from using Windows for almost 40 years. The latest head scratcher is my installation of an application and I am trying to set it up so when I double click a file that is used by this application, have it launch. However, I get this screen, and whether I run in terminal or run, nothing seems to happen. The program (KiCad) should open up when I double click a .kicad_pro file. The pro file seems to have the right icon on it and when I right click the .kicad_pro file it's set to run with the KiCad app. Any ideas ? Thanks

take the executable bit off the .pro file. not needed.

#

right click such file: Properties> Permissions: untick the 'allow running as a program' (which it shouldn't be)

then see Mint Settings for File types/associations. I think there's some item in there, maybe called "Default applications" and make the association.
