ive tried installing Cinnamon 22.1, the edge 21.3 ISO, and even pops OS, with any option I never get to a live session when attempting to boot due to a restart and I have no idea what the issue is (I have verified file integrity of the ISOs). I have tried formatting USB drives (3.0 and 2.0, in NTFS, exFAT, and FAT32 formats, also in multiple USB ports on my MOBO) using both rufus and balenaEtcher (Ive tried options for ISO and DD, MBR/GPT), and even burned a DVD Disc, ive tried booting in compatibility mode option and also replacing the quick splash with nomodeset, tried OEM install option, tried selecting different partitions, and had the same issue every single time of the system restarting before I'm able to install or enter a live session. For further information, I have 0 issues booting into windows 11, I even recently updated my BIOS to the most recent release to see if an outdated BIOS was the issue, and I have tried settings with and without fast boot, secure boot, and CSM, as well as enabling/disabling watchdog timer. The only errors ive been able to see pop up, which do not show consistently, are a generic "hardware error", and a "watchdog CPU" error. Cant find any info online on what my issue is.

My PC specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900 X, MOBO: ASUS ROG B550-F, RAM - Corsair DDR4-3200 128GB (4x32GB), GPU - Red Devil 6900 XT

Under Advanced\SATA Configuration>SATA Mode, that is set to AHCI by default and can change to RAID, is this what you are talking about?

#

Also I have an nvme Raid mode which is currently disabled

No, I've been running windows for years and am trying to make the switch to a Linux distro. No issues at all booting to windows.

try ventoy , it is easy to use and you can drag&drop as many iso files as the usb sticks memory capacity allows. https://www.ventoy.net/en/index.html
best thing: you can verify their checksum on the stick itself. so you know you got a good stick 🙂

Ventoy is an open source tool to create bootable USB drive for ISO files. With ventoy, you don't need to format the disk again and again, you just need to copy the iso file to the USB drive and boot it.

but it's very late here... good night 🥱

Still getting the same problem with ventoy.

Tried booting through grub2 and normal options, with and without compatibility mode.

sounds like computer no like Linux

#

try with just ONE memory module in the proper place if your motherboard allows to run off only one stick of RAM. it MUST be in the right place. i hear it's usually in slot closes to CPU

I tried using a single ram stick in slot a and it still is rebooting before entering the live session

try a different distro then

you have like four different linux families to choose from: debian, arch, suse, and redhat
