ROG laptop Touchpad not working. (First time linux user)

Using the shortcuts on my laptop keyboard doesn't let me enable the touch pad and enabling in the system settings also has no effect, the tochpad doesnt work.
So i dont know weather its a driver issue or what this is my first time installing linux i have 0 idea.

How do i install them

i downloaded the zips

So i tried following this page https://asus-linux.org/manual/supergfxctl-manual/
but on this commnad

cd supergfxctl
make && sudo make install 

this is happeneing

I looked at their page some more. https://gitlab.com/asus-linux/asusctl

• They do not support X11; this means you can only use Wayland, which is yet experimental in Mint Cinnamon
• They recommend newest kernels, and perhaps using their patched kernel; again, not really something for Mint
• They have their own Discord, linked on that page
  If you want to give them a try, I suggest visiting there and asking which distro they recommend. Or you can abandon that project and look for alternatives.

Do you know about any other alternatives or do you reccomend me switching to other distro, i dont mind switching distros since i am dualbooting along with windows, so unelss windows is not affected i am fine
