#Do I have to worry about Linux Mint shutting itself off for an update or anything?

A few years back I built a computer to do some DNA analysis for college. It can take weeks for all the sequences in a file to be compared to a database. My old computer had Windows 10, that would frequently shut itself off and do updates. Is this something I have to worry about on Linux Mint? I've got some kind of weird mental complex related to it. I guess what I'm really asking for is reassurance. How long can you leave a Linux Mint computer running?

as long as you do not set Update Manager to automatically apply updates, then it shouln't interrupt you

by default, it's never on auto-mode

Even if you do set it up to update automatically, it won't just restart on it's own unlike windows
