#Unable to move applets in the panel

Hello! I have been using Linux Mint for some time and I have recently noticed that I am unable to move things in the panel. I cannot move the apps in the window list applet (the option to drag them is enabled) and I cannot move any applets in panel edit mode.

I have no idea what caused this because I cannot get it into a state where I can move the applets. It is still not working even after resetting the panel/applet config to default and restarting the computer.

I know I was able to move them at some point, but there was such a large period of time between last moving them and now that I have no idea what app or setting I might have used to break/disable it and when.

I'm using Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon with kernel 6.11.0-29, 80 GB memory, RTX 4070 Ti with nvidia-driver-570-open. https://termbin.com/85ki

I'm not sure if this is relevant but I am using just one panel on one of three monitors.

try not to move the middle area. that's where open applications show up.

#

to move things like the menu icon, launchers, or system tray, or clock, right click each and chose 'move' then drag it.

I added some more app launchers to the panel but I still cannot switch their positions. I also don't see an option to 'move' the applet

ok perhaps for the clock, the panel must be in 'edit mode'

#

for the launchers, it should be straightforward.

I cannot find a move option and the launchers do not move and instead fly back to where they were before

#

ok close all apps

#

literally all . (if u can chat on Discord via a smartphone or tablet, that would be ideal)

Alright I have everything closed and chatting from mobile

then type applets

#

in the start menu search

#

Alright

crisp swallow
#

in its first tab called "manage" look for an item like pinnable launchers or something.. or show clear photo of the list of them

short fable
#

The grouped window list?

crisp swallow
#

crisp swallow

Alright I’m going to need to take multiple photos
One moment

crisp swallow
#

or maximize the window

i only care for the top half really

@short fable

short fable
#

Oh hold on now

#

I can move everything now

#

That’s so strange. It must have been one of my open apps?

crisp swallow
#

bloddy hell. I thought they were in order of applied ones in that list

#

it is one of ur apps and it's that shit 'grouped pinnable window list' garbage

#

remove it and replace it with an applet called "launchers" or "panel launchers"

#

then u can have your launchers nice n neat on the left

#

in ANY order u like, and they dont shuffle around according to what's open or not

#

and another applet just called Window List in the middle.

Okay I got it. I’ll have to get used to it but I’m glad it’s working properly now

Thank you for your help
