Try getting their installer directly from the website: https://store.steampowered.com/
"Install Steam" button right at the top.
If that does not work, try Flatpak Steam as Plan B.

im seeing that i have installed steam-launcher and below the run button it says Package System, i notice that with other applications I can change to Flatpak, do you mean that I change that?, because with steam-launcher it doesnt let me change, it's only in Package. also how can i uninstall the remnants?

You want to uninstall Steam first, there should be a button.

#

Then do this on a terminal: flatpak --user install com.valvesoftware.Steam
