#Monitor trouble with laptop

perhaps try win-p shortcut instead of closing lid
i need the lid closed as i lack space on my desk
check power settings
ensure doesnt suspend on lid close
perhaps only have just the 'turn off built-in screen' on lid close option
that didnt do much
the monitor still freaks out when the lid closes

maybe the issue is the 2 gpus?
the hdmi and usb cable both go to the nvidia gpu
why's there 3 monitors showing... one on Display Port1
im not sure
i have the main laptop display, the monitor is hdmi, and the secondary is usb c
also my laptop has no display port
also, differing refresh rates are NOT supported
i still have the same issue without the secondary
only one external is 60, the main one is meant to be 144
and the laptop is 240
changing 'the hz to 60 didnt fix anything
so if you rerun last command, they all show 60 hz now?
see if you can tweak the nvidia app settings, perhaps put it to fulltime
n see if issue persists after that change plus a reboot
i disabled the intel gpu and now it just works
so r u saying i cant have differing refresh rates?(bc it seems to work but im worried it will break)
it could give weird issues
u can make a quick profile to doubleclick on when u want to run the laptop portably on max. 240 Hz
i wont be running the laptop screen, just the external ones
but what the profile?
Idk it from memory
u can use the program Arandr to set an exact display mode how you like, then press the checkmark icon, the go to its Layout menu and do 'save' and give it a name. that produces a script you can later just put wherever
or make a symlink to the script on the desktop
