#Having some rather annoying issues when trying to make my system Dual-boot

Im trying to make my system dual-boot but im running into some rather annoying issues.

  1. My first issue was when i tried to install windows 11, It wouldnt allow me because it complained about media drivers missing. This i solved by using Ventoy.

  2. Now my issue is that my Win11 install will not recognise my SSD in the dropdown list of where to install windows 11 to. I have got the IRST Driver package but when i load into the Win11 installer and try to manually use the drivers from a different USB Stick i cant see the drivers. I see the USB Stick, But not the drivers.

The usb stick is formatted in NTFS if that matters.

Update: Reformatted the stick to F32 and now i can see the files but the installer says " No drivers were found " Despite me having downloaded the IRST Intel win11 drivers.

I however dont know if im facing the same issue as i can see my USB Sticks but i cannot see my SSD.

It was a zip file, Im here for another update though.

Update: I found another driver folder i could download of a reputable website that had a Pre-OS Folder, Im not the tech savviest person but this worked for me. The only issue i now have is that when i try to click on my 1tb m.2 ssd it says its unrecognized. However i can pick my normal SSD and install it on there, If it isnt a simple fix ill just install windows on my 2nd SSD and then create a new bootable stick with a media creation tool or something.

Update: Went with just installing it on my other SSD. I beleive the reason i couldnt install it on my m.2 was because it had been formatted when i installed linux. Didnt know that then but it hit me later.

iRST is a dog especially for the ill-prepared Winstaller

drivers have to be unzipped

#

despite Windows having no idea about Linux filesystems, it should theoretically see the drive, and offer to delete existing partitions
