Nvidia gpu displaying 0%
These pics where taken when the gpu was running a 4k 60fps youtube video btw and I know my gpu isn't THAT good
And the gpu still works, and there's nothing wrong with my intel gpu
Update: the nvidia applet was gone but adding it back says this.
go to update manager and check for changes or update
Nothing to update
Show us driver manager window
and output of
nvidia-smi
when running a game or a video
is your browser a flatpak version?
Alright, show us
inxi -SGxxx
show us dpkg -l | grep nvidia
Maybe something got deleted?
2 days ago Cinnamon itself randomly was deleted so some weird stuff happend with my pc
What does
prime-select query
say?
try switching to nvidia
sudo prime-select nvidia
@junior plaza bro the nvidia-prime-applet is in rc mode
try this sudo apt reinstall nvidia-prime-applet
Is it suppose to delete something???
It says I need to first unistall it
Maybe because it's currently running?
sudo apt install --reinstall nvidia-prime-applet
the nvidia-prime-applet is marked as rc, meaning it's removed but config remains
Still giving the same error
can u share the ss
not rc anymore
what if you click on err?
But so I'm getting it got removed?
Wtf
First Cinnamon and now this
wait what it got removed again?
No
Check autostart apps, maybe you got 2 entries for prime applet
It works now, but the fact that it got removed in the first place I didn't do that
And it happend twice now in 3 days time
Lets see, I recently installed the Synaptic Package Manager, could that maybe be part of the problem?
yeah just always have a timeshift before updating or debugging, i prefer to update every weekend (if theres any) thats it
But I didn't really do anything deep as far as I know
Have you changed nvidia driver versions recently?
No
I tried installing grapheneos on my phone though here, but I barely needed to to anything to the pc
Thats about the only thing I used the terminal for recently
so its working fine now right? any more issues?
Well I'll try switching back to on-demand again and see if it works again
sure
But if you have any tips for the "randomly removing stuff" issue my pc apperantly has...
why does it do that until u give it a command 😅
I know when you install something it can remove something else if there are conflicts, but it generally tells you when and what it removes
When I switch back to on demand it doesn't work anymore
The error is gone, but the % is back to 0 again
ooo and one day i was try to setup i3 but guess what after sudo apt autoremove/clean, some or all cinnamon components were removed but then just have to purge uninstall the i3 and reinstall the cinnamon again 😅
do or die situation
But it worked just fine a couple of days ago
Maybe it's the heat??
That or my GPU magically got a MASSIVE upgrade so running anything for it isn't a problem anymore
But it also can't be a hardware problem because it does show it in Performance mode...
I have no clue anymore
Then I wouldn't be the only one with it tho
so is it solved?
ur choice
BUT WHEN I OPEN TABS SPECIFICLY IT SHOOTS UP TO 100%??????????????????????
Man I hate pc's sometimes...
