#Kernel update crashed the PC

Did the kernel update that came today, version 63. But it failed somewhere at the end and the PC froze and did a reboot. I could select the old kernel in grub. The new kernel wasn't added yet. I removed the new kernel. System is operational again.

I was playing internet radio on Audacious when the kernel updated. Could that be the reason? Before I try again. I usually close all programs before I do a kernel update.

Hmm, I reinstalled version 63 and it's working, but this time it didn't install the lowlatency version, which it tried to do from the update program. what would you recommend? install linux-lowlatency again?

Okay, running apt install linux-lowlatency worked. I checked the software manager and saw it wasn't installed yet. Problem solved. Next time I won't stream audio while updating a kernel 🙂

By the way, I put GRUB_DEFAULT=saved and GRUB_SAVEDEFAULT=true in the grub file, which makes it possible to choose a kernel on boot and make it sticky. very handy when switching kernels.
