first, check your existing video setup: inxi -Gxxx note drivers, and resolution
your monitor is 1.78:1 ratio
ok
1920x1080 is 1.78:1 ratio also
ohhhhh ok
it matches.
so what i want is 1280x800 ig
you can do 1600x900 or 1366x768 resolution too , and be in correct ratio
what does the DISPLAY settings give u?
um
better aim
i am actually a comp player of an fps game on roblox called rivals
so switchd to linux
.
does it offer any others. like the 2 i said, or your desired one?
what is the exact setting u put it to just now?
no 1280x800?
no
this is a 1.25:1 aspect ratio, that's why u get bars
hang on...
oh alr take your time
video to create custom resolution or refresh rate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkzrQqT_lF
follow it well, and accurately and through to the end
alr
nuh uh
dammit, it was a good vid
it doesnt lol, it says 'the video go bye bye'
ye i remember
and lastly, adding that setting to some file at the end.. i forget which was exactly
so that it saves on reboot
kk
Alternatively, you could see if roblox plays nicely under gamescope, then you could just stretch out Roblox instead of the entire desktop
I think you could test that (after installing gamescope through apt, it isn't preinstalled on Mint) by running in the terminal:
gamescope -w 1280 -h 800 -f -- flatpak run followed by the flatpak ID of sober
I'll see if it's under a similar name
There is also a flatpak version but I'm not familiar with how to use it
oh ok
Unfortunately it seems like it would need to be manually compiled on Mint
oh ok
