PLEASE HELP I recently installed Linux mint on my Dell laptop to try it out. The experience was alright but now I wanted to get windows back.

I tried an attempt at installing windows back with the help of ventoy and a USB.

I got into the windows installation menu through the boot menu and I deleted my partitions cause I thought it was a required step.

(I saw this one from Linux tech tips on his video called "How to setup windows PROPERLY" and the timestamp is 3:27).

And since it didn't work I exited out and rebooted and now I have this problem.
I tried typing "exit", "reboot" and "restart". None of them worked please help me I'm panicking, I've been at this for 5 hours now I don't know what to do I'm very scared. I just got my laptop back from repair after 20 days and now i have to deal with this headache.

when you were installing windows and deleted your partitons, did you delete all partitons and wipe it? because if you did that means you essentially just removed all of the data on the hard drive.

Did the hard drive contain any important data that you needed?

Okay so if the hard drive does not contain any important data then you can proceed with installing windows with a bootable usb. Just retry the entire process from the start, try using halt or poweroff command to shutdown the pc from the grub menu

I will try..

This is a windows install issue, you should join a windows help discord server and ask for help there

When you deleted your partitions, you probably deleted the partition that contained Linux Mint and held the grub menu. hence why the grub menu was unable to load for you to select an OS.

If all your important data is backed up from that hard drive, I'd suggest you to delete all partitions and completely wipe that hard drive and then install windows.

After installing windows, you can partition your hard drive to make space for Linux Mint

Make sure you do not have any important data on the disks before wiping it
