I plead I am a simple person who just wants to click on the apps on the taskbar to open them, not constantly search for every single one 🙏 Tell me what I most do in order to let it be the way god intended

Also how on earth do you shrink it to just the icon, my taskbar is just a mess of words

to add an app launcher, you can find it in the xfce start menu, right click the app, and 'add to panel' or even drag it from menu to panel

  • to make textless buttons, right click an empty area of panel> panel preference> Items tab

  • find the item in the list that says 'window buttons' and click the small "edit" icon. It may look like a pencil, or a gear. Untick "show button labels" tickbox.

to move any item (such as a launcher, you can just drag it up or down in the ITEMS list, in panel preferences> items tab
