Hey everyone! I've recently transitioned to Linux Mint and I noticed every now and then, my earbuds (Samsung Buds2 Pro) would drop connection with my system and the only way to connect it again is by turning the bluetooth adapter off and on again. What should I do to resolve the issue? Thank you!

It would go fine for an hour and then disconnect and other times, it does so in 15-30 minutes

I only have this sets of earbuds unfortunately

#

I did mess with audio profile and it's been fine but the initial connection gets a little bit more wonky

I do get a drop but it only happens after using it for 3-4 hours

okay so bluetooth driver is having trouble sending assumingly mp3 audio and not mp4/MPEG audio+video

Yeah, I've been reading on the information online and there's so many conflicting info haha

it's a common mystery

especially with anything wireless when it comes to Linux

So Linux has like a different protocol comparing to Windows? I notice some people said to buy a BT dongle that's Linux-compatible

#

Prefer not to go that way since I already have a BT adapter integrated on my PC's motherboard (BT 5.2 I believe)

yeah doing that is great because it actually lets you use something that has a better driver than what's included by default from Linux, but in some cases it's the same experience

I see, so it's a little trade-off between both OS

#

Surprisingly, after I altered the audio profile, it hasn't dropped yet, I hope it keeps going that way

On the BT control, it still says my buds are paired

#

I have to turn BT off and on again for it to reconnect

weird.......seems like a timeout setting of some sort if no audio is transmitted or something? Any specific time duration you were able to identify?

If I get lucky enough, maybe 1 and a half hour

#

I've gotten to 2 hours once before it disconnects

and you've not stepped far away from your computer and you have a dongle that you've used for testing or only onboard Bluetooth?
