Hello, I am running linux mint on a VM (VMWare), and I get freezes when opening applications or opening a file via something like vscode.

#

The freezing happens for a couple seconds and then works

earnest tulip
#

im not sure what you are directing me to here

rose shoal
#

vm has no bios

#

go in real bios n check for vt-x vt-d, or similar wording

earnest tulip
#

Cant really do that, its a work laptop

rose shoal
#

you cant enter the bios to check?

earnest tulip
#

my host is a Windows

#

any other way to check?

rose shoal
#

reboot the real machine. at startup splash it should show a message near bottom for 'enter setup' or 'enter bios'

#

or google the key for that brand of pc to enter bios

#

then pop in and check, unless bios is admin-guarded

earnest tulip
#

it looks like its enabled

rose shoal
#

well that's that then

#

idk what the cause of glitch is then

#

hmm ok I restarted machine and it works better

#
