Description:

I started to experience this issue recently out of nowhere, sometimes my laptop keyboard partially stops working for a particular application, I have had this happen to me when I was running xev as well, which suggests it has something to do with focus?

I have also experienced this recent issue of youtube cycling through pause and play in repeatedly. The recent occurrence of both of these bugs seems to be correlated on my setup.

I am not sure where to look chatgpt isn't helping, and google seems to bring up solutions regarding certain intel driver bugs, not sure whether my machine uses some intel components since the CPU and GPU, so I didn't try that. There's also the coincidence here on another forum post from october 2024, but it has no solution.

How to reproduce

1. Just do normal things on a computer
2. A prohibited icon shows up which disables keyboard or bugs it out for that particular program that too partially.

What I have tried

1. Updating linux kernel to the latest 6.11.
2. Using kisak mesa PPA.
3. Updating all packages, purging cache, fixing keys etc.
4. Chatgpt suggested me to add a xorg config to turn off palm detection (which I am not even sure my device supports or not), because it detected using `script -q ~/input-debug.log -c "sudo libinput debug-events --verbose"` that there's some report regarding `palm: keyboard timeout` , since it narrowed down very hard on that hypothesis and it didn't do the trick.

Potential workarounds

1. Automating super + typing/untyping every 0.1 second using a script.
  • I have attached my inxi info and ** a screenshot from one of the links of the prohibited icon, since it's hard to capture it on my end**

Looking for a solution where to debug.
