#Frequent Lock Screen with Authentication Popup on Linux Mint 21.3 XFCE

Since this evening, I've been experiencing a strange issue with my PC. While using it normally—like browsing the web or watching videos in VLC—the screen suddenly goes black after some time and then returns to the lock screen. After logging back in, a popup message appears (I’ve attached an image of it). This has happened about five times so far. I entered my password three times in that message and denied it twice. At this point, I’m starting to feel suspicious. Does anyone know what might be going on and how to fix it? I'm using Linux Mint 21.3 XFCE (64-bit) with 4GB RAM and a 250GB SSD.

check screensaver settings, and drive write-cache settings (should be write-through, no caching)
