#How to make a portable USB flash drive with linux
10 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
use two usb's
one as installer, one as target. and REMOVE the internal boot drive of the pc temporarily while doing so
Explain in English please(I didn't really understand what u mean)
one is the one u want linux installed . that is called the target drive
then another usb to be the installer medium . or use a burned DVD if applicable
ideally, it is 100x better if the 'target' device is a usb-hdd, or usb-ssd
- also see this article, read it over well and note the picture, re: persistence https://www.linuxuprising.com/2019/08/rufus-creating-persistent-storage-live.html
note, this is for light-use only. a heavy use will either freeze or break the usb flash drive with such heavy write-operations that web browser caching and OS caching do
plus on usb sticks, it's slow overall.
